FTC Probe Puts Microsoft Back in the Antitrust Hot Seat
The Federal Trade Commission is investigating whether Microsoft has used exclusionary tactics in cloud computing and AI. The probe, which began in 2024, focuses on Azure bundling practices and the company's $13.5 billion investment in OpenAI infrastructure. If the FTC files a lawsuit, it would mark the most significant regulatory threat to Microsoft since the 2001 DOJ case.
